While the Brazilian butt lift can be performed on an outpatient basis, most of our patients prefer to spend the night in one of our suites at the Rose Ambulatory Surgical Center in Denver. At your initial consultation, Denver plastic surgeons Dr. John A. Grossman and Dr. Philippe A. Capraro will discuss the benefits of each option with you.

Follow-Up Care

You will need to wear a compression garment for two weeks. This garment will help control swelling. It may take as long as six weeks for all swelling to subside.

In order to achieve maximum results, the transplanted fat cells cannot be disturbed by trauma or pressure. Therefore, you will not be able to sit or lie on your buttocks for approximately six weeks following your procedure.

We recommend that you eat your meals standing up during this time period. While it may seem like an inconvenience, it will help ensure the best results for your Brazilian butt lift. When going to the bathroom, you will need to crouch over the toilet

Exercise

Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro recommend that you resume light activity immediately following buttock augmentation surgery. They will provide you with detailed instructions as to what types of exercise will be appropriate to facilitate proper healing. A main component of your post-surgical exercise regimen will be walking. You should be able to resume all normal activity after about one month.

Most patients can return to work after about two weeks. However, if your job entails a large amount of sitting, you may want to take additional time off, since sitting on your buttocks immediately following surgery can negatively impact the results of your procedure.
