Pectoral Implants

Denver and Littleton, Colorado

Pectoral implants are an excellent option to help you improve the appearance of your chest region. Your implants are constructed from an ultra-soft, flexible silicone material. They will not impact your natural muscles in the region, so you will be able to continue your normal workout regimen after recovering from surgery.

Am I a Candidate for Pectoral Implants?

Some men have trouble building pectoral mass, even with a regular weightlifting regimen. This is quite natural. Some body types develop muscle tone and definition in the chest region more easily than others. If you are frustrated by the results your workout routine have provided to your physique, pectoral implant surgery for men can help you achieve the toned, chiseled chest you have always wanted.

It is important to remember that pectoral implants will not increase muscle definition in the region. This must be accomplished through exercise and/or Maximum-Definition Liposuction. However, they can be a very effective method for increasing mass and improving the shape of your chest.

The Pectoral Implant Procedure

There are a variety of styles, shapes, and sizes of pectoral implants. At your initial consultation, Denver plastic surgeons Dr. John A. Grossman and Dr. Philippe A. Capraro will discuss these options with you to determine which one will best achieve your desired aesthetic goals. However, we may need to adjust the size of your implants during surgery based on tissue tolerances and stretchability.

Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro will make an incision in your armpit along the edge of the muscle. A space will be created beneath the pectoral muscle down to its lower edge. The implant is placed in this pocket, and the incision is closed.

Sometimes, liposuction may be performed in conjunction with your pectoral implant procedure in order to achieve better definition in the region. This is an ideal option if you have excess fat in the chest area which needs to be removed before your pectoral implants are inserted.

Recovery and Follow-Up Care

Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro will put you in a lightly compressive elastic jacket similar to those used by women after breast implant procedures. This will be your dressing garment for the first three weeks. After that, it can be discarded.

You should resume physical activity as soon as you are able to, but it is important to limit vigorous arm movement and light lifting for a week following surgery. Afterwards, you may gradually increase your level of activity over the next three weeks. Full activity may be resumed after one month. Before this, daily physical activity should primarily consist of walking either outside or on a treadmill, riding an exercise bike, or bicycling out-of-doors

A Commitment to Exceptional Results

Pectoral implant placement is not a common procedure; however, both Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro have performed this procedure many times with exceptional results. Their keen artistic sensibility and commitment to providing a unique, customized procedure ensure you will receive the finest quality care for your pectoral implant procedure.
